Fishermen’s Hut Festival at the Xantener Südsee in Lüttingen

On Saturday 5 September, the traditional Fishermen’s Hut Festival took place at the Xantener Südsee in Lüttingen, in the Euregio Rhine-Waal.

A boatmen’s choir and the Dutch shanty choir “De Maessanghers” from Grave (Municipality of Land van Cuijk) created a cheerful atmosphere. The evening was entirely dedicated to the “Freie Beutenrede”. After their performance, the choir members also took part in the other activities to strengthen their bonds. There was plenty of fresh salmon, matjes and fried herring. There was also the chance to admire the drum corps. Young and old alike were able to enjoy the festivities!

The event was made possible, in part, by Euregio Rhein-Waal and a grant from the Small Projects Fund under the EU programme Interreg Deutschland-Nederland.
