TRAM project organises workshop

The Interreg VI-funded cross-border project TRAM - transnational labour migration in the Euregio, led by Prof Dr Ingrid Jungwirth, Hochschule Rhein-Waal, held a workshop on 22 January 2025 together with the Landwirtschaftskammer NRW under the title ‘Good work - Recruiting and retaining workers from south-eastern Europe’.

The workshop was aimed at employers in the agricultural sector. The focus was on how migrant workers can be fairly recruited and retained by farms in the long term. Legal and collective working conditions, tips for fair recruitment, the basics of respectful communication on farms and ways to integrate migrant workers were presented.

Farmers on both sides of the border face major challenges in employing labour. Further exchange and the development of models for good work and a good life can solve numerous problems - not only for the employment of migrant workers, but for good cooperation on farms in general.
